Download 40d problems

I've never had this much trouble with a download before. I'm about to start my 4th attempt to download the 4.0d upgrade. The message says it's 41.4 M in size. I've tried 3 times now at about 2 hrs per attempt on 56K. Each time it closes the file at about 39 M.
When I execute the exe it says it is corrupt. The connection isn't dropping -- I'm still online when it closes.

Anyone else having these problems?? Is there any good freeware out there that will let me restart the end of the download and isn't spyware?

I downloaded overnight and got it all which seems to be install OK. However when I downloaded to a PC that wasn't mine I didn't get the registration screen, so it didn't install the 4.0d ptoduct. I shoud add that I used IE to download it at home.

i usually almost always use other software (not IE or Netscape) to download links. I personally use XXX (er I just forgot.. I can check when I get home). It will search for alternate sources as well as the link you clicked on to download... so my download speeds dramatically increase. It will also pause/resume if you happen to lose your connection, which is a big plus for large files --- and it's something that IE or Netscape direct downloading won't do.

Rex -

Do you have access (work, friend, etc.) to another PC with a high-speed connection?

I DL big files like this at work, burn to CD, and install on my home PC, at which I have a SCREAMING 28.8k (on a good day) copper line, squirrel-accelerated connection to the WWW. I am miles and miles from the nearest C/O or cable line...

If you don't have this option, maybe someone can mail you a cd
