Downloaded installer not working

GrantsVoice wrote on 1/9/2021, 7:20 AM

I'm using a "legacy" version of Vegas Movie Studio 6.0 on my "being retired" office PC. It was installed off the original CD. I'm still able to use all the features I need.

I just bought a new Win10 PC and of course there is no longer a hard drive. I downloaded the "online" version. It seems to have a challenge with the install, then goes ahead anyway. Then I click to open the program- Then when it asks me for my Serial#, it says there is an installation issue. I'm not at a point to purchase an upgrade. How can I get this install to work?

Did you try to install the program under Windows 10 with the comptability mode set to the same Windows version your "retired" office PC had?

Thanks for the answer. I've no idea how to do that. Can you point me in the right direction?

Weird part is they're both running current Windows 10 (all updates run, etc)

I did try the compatibility (repair?) (try running with old versions of windows thing)==I tried all the combinations, even going back to Sys7, (How it was originally installed). No luck.
