Dpi answer ,bit rate question

next time a graphic orientated person ask the question about dpi just say the screen is the resolution not the pic and they will understand

forget pan and zoom you cannot fit a 2000 pixel artwork in 1000 pixel screen it will only be 1000 pixels in the end. DPI is redundant

OK now how doest the bit rate affect the quality?

Or you could ask what the difference in DPI is between a 9" TV and a 48" TV. Ponder that for a bit.

Bit Rate doesn't necessarily affect quality in a linear way. For example, you could have several different types of compression all resulting in 25 Mbits/sec bitrates and yet they could be of very widely differing quality. However, given one type of encoding (mpeg2, for example) the higher the bitrate the better the quality.

Then again, if your bitrate is too high your player may not be able to play it. Or you audience may hate viewing it on the web.
