Ok, So, I was dropping pictures onto my time line and they *were* filling the whole screen. Now they are not! What did I change??????

Looks like I need to set the default to "match output aspect" Any idea how I changed this default????

Found my own answer!
"There is another option for still images in Options | Preferences | Editing called: Automatically crop still images added to timeline which will cause all images to be cropped to the project when added."

Click on the first picture, go to last picture and shift-click*. Right click and choose Properties. Make the change and it will be applied to all.

* selection option 2: right click on first picture then choose Select Events to End.

Note that this only works if all the pictures are the same size and aspect ratio. Vegas will take whatever absolute changes you make to the first picture and apply the same changes to the rest of them, whether they're appropriate or not.
