You're doing it right. I think it must be a bug in the tutorial. Try setting View > Window Layouts > Default Layout then re-run the tutorial.

Hi nick. Thanks but this didn't work, although briefly it skipped to the next step but I can't get it to do that again. Strange. Maybe I should reboot.

I believe there may have been an issue with the tutorials in that area for VP13 and 14 which some people may see depending on the resolution of their display. I made some fixes to hopefully remedy this problem in VP15.
