Dragging audio clips and it's audio envelopes

mcm wrote on 5/23/2000, 9:50 PM
Lets say I have a short 60 second audio clip and about 15
audio envelopes for volume and panning in it. Now I want
to move the clip and all the envelopes markers to a new
location on the same track keeping the relationship of the
clip and markers intact. Can this be done without mixing
it to a new track first? Thank you, Michael

Vegas 1.0, no, unfortunately.
Vegas 2.0, yes, thank god. It works great.

In 1.0 you can use the envelope tool and select all your points. Then
drag them as a whole to line up with the moved audio. Not exactly
what you're after but at least you only have to line them up once
instead of each individual point.

WOW! I never knew you could do that!!! Cool. Nice to know. Still, not
as cool as what's in 2.0, but at least it's something. Is that in the
help or manual?

Thanks Andrew.

Stumbled on it by just pokin around and trying different tools during
a mix I did back in November.

As Charles has already said...There are tons of little tricks and
features in VEGAS that make it a very powerful program. The more I
poke around and find things the more I like VEGAS. (of course
sometimes I miss the glaringly obvious but I digress :)

Thank you everyone for the help. I kind of wish someone would put
out a tip sheet. mcm
