I’m animating a video effect to blur out a face as it moves. As the person moves out of the frame, I’d like to drag the effect fully off, and I can’t -- half of the oval stays at the side of the frame. Is there a way to do this? I’m using Movie Studio Platinum 12.
You can't really drag the effect off-screen since, technically, there's nothing off-screen to drag it to.
However, you should be able to animate it so that it's very small or very close to the edge so that it can barely be seen. Or you can keyframe or even split the event on your timeline so that the blur isn't applied to the segment where the person is off-screen.
Can you type in the X-coordinate manually? If so you should be able to specify a value far enough beyond the edge of the frame to get the oval outside.
Thanks much for the suggestions, guys. I decreased the size of the oval as it approached the side of the frame, as Steve suggested. It’s an acceptable workaround.
