Driver issue

Hi there,

I am currently editing 4k footage on Movie Studio Platinum 16. I had no issues up until I had about 6 minutes of footage and now my entire system stops working each time I open the project, receiving the error "display driver failed to start" and the screen usually cuts to black or becomes distorted in some way.

I am using a Razer Blade 15 Advanced GeForce RTX 280 w/ Max-Q Design, i7-8750H on Windows 10.

I've installed the most recent service pack from Razer and I am still getting this issue. I'm unable to access my project at all, even to render it.

Any advice on how to get the project up and running and be able to work on it without crashes would be appreciated.

First off all, welcome to this userforum for Vegas products.
It is very difficult to give an advice because not everyone is using the same laptop and your sourcefiles.
So we have to get more information.

- Which display GPU is being used and which drivers for that GPU are installed
- What type of project do you use
- What are your sourcefiles and especially the one after that you saw that error message.

- When you can give us the vf projectfile with some content ( f.i. with the problemfile) should be the best help for advice.

Thank you, but this info is not enough to say anything about your problem.
Please info of the sourcefiles through MediaInfo as mentioned in the link I gave you at C1.

Yess, thank you.

Although I'm not a user of QT files, do you have installed the latest qt videodrivers of Apple?
In the newer programs they are not available by default because they are not longer protected by Windows.
You need them for your files but it are very heavy UHD Hevc coded videofiles.
Look if you have enabled the program to make it easier to work with those files by the automatic option for making proxies of UHD files through this option

I've installed the latest version quicktime and tried to run it afterwards but it still keeps crashing.

I'm not sure how I was able to use it before without crashing

Maybe you should try to reset the program to the state you installed it the first time:
1. Doubleclick the startbutton of the program with hold Ctrl and Shit of your keyboard.
2. On the following popup accept to delete all cached application data.
