Drop frames??

Hello all,
I have checked under Capture setting “Stop capture on dropped frames”, but upon completion of the captured file I still get capture had dropped frames message. The file seams to be okay. Is this just a bug in the capture program or am I missing something?

Hardware is a Toshiba Satellite 512 mem, 1.13 GHz 30gig system drive and Pyro drive kit with a 80gig IBM 7200 rpm drive for video.

Thanks
Dan

It could be that the tape has discontinuous timecode on it or sections of it have some timecode problems which Video Capture may think are dropped. You should try another tape or a different section of the tape and see if you have these problems. How many frames does it say were dropped?

It does not say that there is any frames dropped during (it stays at 0) it is just after I stop that it says "capture complete with dropped frames". By the way I have detect scenes turned off.

I see the same thing. No dropped frames but the error pops up at the end. The capture works fine. I assumed that this happed because I normally start a capture and go off to do something else. When I return the tape is usually at the tail and is unrecorded. The capture of video has stopped but when I complete the process the error pops up.

Me too. Captures just fine - video looks great, but the same error message about dropped frames. Wouldn't I be able to tell watching the video if it had dropped frames?

Again, it may be that there are timecode breaks which seem like dropped frames or the tape may have some bad timecode.

You can check out the dropped frames count per clip by choosing Customize View in the Clip Explorer's view menu, and then add the dropped frames column to the Clip Explorer's view.

Not sure were that setting is? When you sat "Clip Explorer" do you mean the media pool?
