Furthermore, I searched the forums and read came accross this link
http://vasst.com/?v=training/VegasFAQnew.htm#drpfrm

I followed the instructions and all Primary and Secondary channels are enable to DMA. However what I forgot to mention is that my new hard drive is connected via IDE on my SCSI and RAID controller. When I double click on the Promise SATA378(m) IDE Controller I don't have the ADVANCED SETTINGS tab as I do in the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller. Any thoughts on how to fix this problem?

There not missing. They are standard in the SATA spec.

I went out and bought on an Ultra DMA round cable as I initionally used a 40 pin IDE cable. I was told that i was only getting half the bandwidth. Now with the new cable in place I am still getting dropped frames. Any other ideas?

As per my notes to myself (a note freak):

"WinXP Promise Ultra 133 TX2(tm) IDE Controller, Properties: Uncheck Pass Windows Flush-drive-cache commands to Disk Drive = UNCHECKED!! False!!! Don't forget this. Causing dropped frames."

You may want to check for this setting.

Let me know if it's applicable to you...if you would.

Thanks.
