135 Mbps for DV

Actually you only need 3.6MBps (Mega Bytes per second) for DV (around 29Mbps).

I can't imagine that's the case - maybe *MAYBE* for uncompressed 8bit SD???

I did what you said and comes back with 230.4 frames per second - 9.2 times real time.

Actual write speed wil be lower when capturing ..

What does all this mean?

Is it good or bad?
would it casue dropped frames?

That meams... the test is saying your system is more than capable of capturing to your hard drive with zero dropped frames. In other words... the problem is not with your hard drive.

We already knew that (at least I did... as I have the same mptherboard and had the same problem as you)

Don't be diverted from your "primary" task now... and that is to get a new firewire card. That's what "we" found out yesterday needs to be done right.
