dropped frames in vegas using ACEDVio

Hi everyone!
I hope someone has a possible quick fix solution for my frustrating problem.
My story goes... I'm running win XP on 2GHZ P4 using Vegas 4.0 & Canopus ACEVio capture card.
I'm inputting analog VHS-C tape thru a PAL VCR adaptor or just VHS tapes (pal) from a PAL VCR
Here is the problem.
It was all running fine with 256k RAM & once I upgraded it to 1280 RAM (added 2x 512K DDRAM) it has started to drop frames and the audio every 10-30 seconds?
Also now for some reason it won't preview to my Pal TV monitor when it was blazing away quite happily before?
I really hope someone has worked through a similar problem & could pass on some solutions.

Thanks

Does the new RAM that you added have the exact same timing and specs as the existing RAM? (other than capacity of course). I would remove the old RAM and place the new RAM in the first two banks. Then do some testing with just the new RAM (1024). If everything works fine again, it may be incompatibilities with different RAM chips (i.e., the old and new ones). I don’t think you will see much of a difference in anything between 1024 and 1280 so just leave the older RAM out.
