Dropped frames with .avi import from Camtasia

I recorded a powerpoint slide show in Camtasia Studio 6.0. I rendered it to avi and watched the ENTIRE avi. There are no dropped frames in the avi

When I import it to Sony Vegas Movie Studio and do my editing I get dropped frames that show on the time line as all red frames. With these dropped video frames, Sony will not render past them and I get a crash. Note: the audio is intact.

Any advice appreciated. Since the .avi file i am importing is perfect I am thinking I may need to use Adobe or other software to edit it. Sony will not render past these dropped frames

I have read a lot about dropped frames on the board but it has always been in regard to importing from a video camera. This is an intact .avi file.

Advice appreciated
Thanks

You might need to use another AVI internal format than the one you used, one that vegas likes better. I would suggest AVI Cineform, but that's not a free codec. But it's one that Vegas works well with.
