DSE's book

I am very new to video. I have no knowledge of how to properly output video that I do in Vegas to broadcast (my new task for the company I work for will be editing our infomercials). Basically, I scared that I'll miss a step.

From searching earlier posts, I read a comment about illegal colors. What? I lay my ignorance at the door. Can DSE's book help me or is there another that any of you could recommend?

Thanks

Thomas

Yes, I would say the Douglas’ book or even his DVD will take you step by step through using Vegas. I have both and they are worth every penny.

Thomas, I have Spot's DVD set: it is worth much more than every penny spent on it. His book and DVDs might be invaluable to you, since you need to get "up and running" ASAP. Also, certain other members of this forum sell training tapes/etc.

Can you imagine having an opportunity to sit next to a world-class master for several hours -- who personally shows you how to do masterly work, while constantly explaining and elaborating? Well, Grasshopper, for a hundred bucks or so,Spot's DVD set will provide you with this experience, and you can review it at anytime afterwards!

Federal rules define the bandwidths for TV broadcasts, limiting the maximum brightness and darkness of video signals. Vegas has the tools needed to ensure compliance. However, I suspect that there are some "tricks of the trade" at work here; I've recorded shows on cable TV, and found that the brightness rule (i.e., don't exceed 100 IRE, which equates to 235 RGB) apparently isn't strictly followed on cable channels.(don't know about on-air broadcasts, since we live in a rural area).
