DSR-45 not seen

I just started using Vegas 4.0 and it will not recognise my DSR-45. I think it is the operating system more than any thing. It had me download a driver DVConnect Driver and still won't see it. The driver in the Device Manage is under Sound,video and it says 1394 DV Camcorder (non DirectShow).

I plugged a DSR-45 in last week and Vegas VidCap had no issue reading it at all. Worked perfectly. I'm on Windows XP Home.

I am running windows 2000 server, is that a problem? I have been researching this problem and have found a consensis. I need to get a hold of the MS DV camera and vcr driver. I also don't have an IMaging Devices category in my device manager. I am still looking for this problem on the net but can't seem to get anywhere.
