duration of still pixs on timeline

gents,
i'm making a slidshow. if i drag many still files to the timeline, they default to 5 seconds. how do i globally set the duration of all stills to something other than 5 seconds? ie, if i drag 200 bmp or jpg files from the media pool to the timeline, how do i set the duration time of all of them to 2 or 3 seconds?

The reply from jimcho is what you need, I was looking for the same thing.
Remember to heed the waqrning in his 2nd reply, it looks like there is a lot of things that can be goofed up from the screen you need to use.
