Nope. Not if it's not OHCI. I have a similar card that came with Canopus EZDV that I bought a couple of years ago. It's proprietary, too, and only works with the Canopus software it was built for. Get a new ADS Pyro card.

THere's no Non-OHCI compliant plugin or snap-in? You'd think they'd try to serve as many people as possible.

Oh well, $350 well spent...

$ 350 for what? I thought the Pyro was going for $ 25-30.

Sam,
If the DV200 card is a 'red' card, I believe it IS OHCI compliant. Just don't install the DV200 stuff. Let MS do its thing and it will load the MS/TI drivers and you should be all set.

If it's a 'green' card, then you're out of luck.

Sam,

Paunz is right. I started off with the DV200/Premiere 6.0 bundle, which was a pretty good deal for, what, $250 or something (full copy of Premier; lots of people were just chucking the board).

Then I discovered Vegas. Then I discovered that the DV200 wouldn't preview out with Vegas. So I got an ADS Pyro and never looked back.

As a recovering Pinnacle user, I offer this thread from the Pinnacle board which should help:

THanks, I already read that thread and was just hoping that Someone working for SF, or independently had developed a snap-in that was backwards compatible. Obviously not.

Not only will I have to become a recovering Pinnacle Systems user, but I'm already a Recovering Pinnacle Systems former employee.

Tors, When I bought the DV300 years ago, it was $345 and the damned thing only came with Premiere LE! But now I've discovered Vegas Video and the ease of use blows Premiere totally away.

Thanks again.

Forget the Ads Pyro card, you'll just be paying for junky software you"ll never use. Go to pricewatch.com, and order the most inexpensive card that specifies that it's OHCI IEE1394 compliant. I've never paid more than $20 for a 1394 card, the most recent being $17 2 weeks ago, (S+H included, w/firewire 6ft. cable), from Akida computer. I've purchased 8-10 this way, and never had a problem, (I build computers).
