DV artifacts here???

On this image i did a number of heavy CC apllaying mask on the top with gradient:

Unfortunately when you look carefuly it produces banding of a sort (especially visible in top left and bottom right: http://www.patrykrebisz.com/banding_problem2.jpg

Since i'm using a high quality PS mask:

I was wondering whether there is a way not to get that banding???

(I'm putting the jpgs at higest quality so the compression doesn't influence what you are seeing)

Because of the color space limitations of DV. Banding is something you will have to get used to especially with any kind of gradient. There are tricks to make it somewhat better, but, you get what you pay for and DV is a cheap edit format.

What's the best work around? Would composing it in AFter effects help?
