dv Capture in "Video for Windows" format?

Is there some way I can make VV3 capture video straight from a dvcam that will create a *.avi file that will work in a program that uses the old "Video For Windows" format of avi? ...as in NOT OpenDml AVI version 2? I use some software for sfx that only supports the old avi style. I am entering a 24 hour video race and want to not have to go back and render all my dv avi to the older version avi before I can import them into Illusion.
Thanks in advance!
Chris

My guess would be no, because video capture doesn't really "capture" DV from the camcorder, it just copies the file being sent to it from the camcorder and stores it on the drive. You would have to do a separate conversion step afterwards.

I've seen a lot of people talk about scenealizer though. It might have that function.

Well, actually we now only write out Type-2 DV .avi (separate audio and video streams, with audio stream duplicating the in-frame audio) files since Vidcap version 2.5, basically since we added DV scene detection. This also makes it so Vegas no longer has to create a proxy file.

Prior to that we defaulted to writing Type-1 DV .avi files (where the audio and video are interleaved).

You can run it through the freeware Canopus DV File converter available here: http://www.canopuscorp.com/products/fileconv.php3
