Being a dyed-in-the-wool audio guy, I am on shaky ground
when it comes to Video ... but it appears to finally be the
time to justify purchasing VV instead of VA.
We have previously installed a 1394 firewire port (Digital
Research with a TI IEEE 1394 chip) in our Win2k DAW for
faster CD burning of archive files.
Will this existing firewire port, plus a DV converter like
the Sony DVMC-DA2, and Vegas' Video capture utility, allow
us to capture video for editing in Vegas Video from both
analog and digital sources?
I keep hearing about the Pyro DV card ... is it something
other than firewire port with software? IOW, do we need
a "DV card" if we have an existing firewire port?
If anyone has the DVMC-DA2, what cabling is necessary to
make it all come together?
Thanks in advance.
