DV Files Captured in Vegas 4.0 Batch Capture Crash Other Programs

I recently used Vegas 4.0d's Batch Capture utility with scene detection enabled to capture two one hour DV tapes recorded on my Sony VX-1000 camcorder. The capture in Vegas went smoothly without a single frame dropped and all of the clips play back fine in Vegas. Howeer, when I attempt to load the clips into other programs (for example DFX+ compositing program or Baushaus software's Mirage compositing and video paint program) these clips produce an immediate crash of both of those programs.

I also have Newtek's T[3] software and Toaster card installed in my Xeon workstation. The clips batch captured in Vegas load and play back fine in T[3] with no problems. While in T[3], I rendered one of the Vegas clips to Type 1 DV and it loaded and played back fine in either of the programs mentioned above.

Can anyone help me understand what is going on here? Is there anyway to capture the clips within Vegas as Type 1 DV clips?

Thanks in advance for responding.

Tom

Vegas doesn't capture type 1. You could wait for those other apps to be fixed or render to type one in Vegas and feed the other apps (your choice). There will be no quality hit when you render type 2 to type 1.
