DV pixel aspect ratio - 654 vs. 655 which one?

Okay, reading the Vegas manual, it clearly states that for best results when importing still images for NTSC DV format width, the formula is:

720 x .9091 which actually equals 654.552 (pixel width)

Okay, obviously we need to round this number either up or down, and the manual has it rounded UP to 655, for a 655 x 480 pixel-aspect-corrected still.

However, when I "Save Snapshot To File" under Vegas, this snapshot is actually 654 x 480 pixels.

So which one really is best to use? 654 or 655 pixels? Or are they both just as usuable and it's really a non-issue?

655 -- Remember, when it's over .5 we always round up! ;o)

Nobody can tell the visually see the difference between a 720x 654 and a 720x655 aspect ratio. So its a none issue.

You *do* mean 654/655x 480- but, yes, I agree- one pixel won't be an issue either way.

I didn't think one pixel would make any real difference. I just found it very odd (or confusing) as to why the manual says to use 655x480 when importing still images for DV, yet the Vegas program itself saves snapshots as 654x480.

I would have thought there would be some consistent numbers happening, but apparently not. But obviously it doesn't make any real difference in the grand scheme of things, which is good to know. Guess I'm just being overly analytical. :o)
