DV still capture resolution?

I've got a Canon Elura and we always record in progressive scan
to get the best stills. After capturing a still in VF 2.0 (demo),
the resolution is only about 320x240. I've used other DV capture
tools such as PhotoDV which generate stills much closer to the DV
maximum resolution.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a limitation of the demo version?
Perhaps a driver issue?

The camera is connected to a Dell Inspiron 8000's built-in Firewire
port.

Thanks,
- Mark

Are you capturing from the capture program or the timeline? If you're capturing from the timeline, you need to display the preview window at project size. You can just right-click it and check the "display at project size" checkbox. Then take your capture.

Thanks for the reply.

I was using the capture program. I'd prefer not to have to
capture video just to grab some stills at the best resolution.

In that case, right-click the display window and select zoom / 100% before taking the snapshot.

Yep, I just figured that out. It's working great now, thanks.
