DVD 4.0 reading wrong file size

I have a 3.2gig mpeg 2 file. When I import it into dvd srch. 4.0 it says the disc space is now 7.1 gB. What is wrong.

Save your project, Prepare your DVD folder, close and reopen the project. What does it say now?

Most likely you have an embedded audio file in your mpeg-2 that is reporting the uncompressed size.

You can also go the File menu and select Optimize DVD.

Set the compression for your non-MPEG files and, when you close this panel, your file size should be more reflective of your final DVD output.

I normally render the avi to mpeg before I import it into dvd arch. If I render the files in vegas 7.0, or higher to mpeg, I have this problem. If I render it in vegas 5.0, I don't. same setting in all programs.
