DVD-A and Dual Layer Authoring

Here's a question I've not seen asked:

I've been burning (successfully!) dual-layer proofing samples of a project that will soon go to replication. Normally, I just let DVD-A (5.0b) burn the discs directly. I wondered if it were possible to write a dual-layer image using the iso writer in DVD-A, and, by-golly, it is!

But the question now becomes: Can this iso be burned with ImgBurn? Is ImgBurn smart enough to know where layer breaks are, or is it destined to try to burn 7+ gigabytes to a single layer before barfing?

Inquiring minds, and all that...

imgburn is very good for dual layer. In fact, if I remember correctly, it will give you an option on where to do the layer break.

So none of the layer information is somehow embedded in the iso image? Thanks for the comment -- will have to play around with it. I've taken to using ImgBurn more often because I like the verification it will do...

The layer information is not created until you burn a disk in any of the software that I now of. But you need to have a chapter mark at the layer break point.
