I recently jumped ship from using Encore/Premiere Pro to DVD-A/Vegas for workflow and playback compatibility issues, and so far am very pleased with both tools. Except for one major complaint with DVD-A...the less-than-pretty solution for implementing "Play All" type functionality.
I'm working on several projects which are compilations of digital photos organized by year and event, and I want to be able to view not only the stillshow for a given event, but all the shows for a given year. It has become a pain to create and populate "fake" menus with copies of the stillshow videos just to pull this off. It's a lot of work that could be handled quite quickly and elegantly with some sort of playlist functionality. Let me define a list of media that will be played one after another, and and end action for the list, and then target my button at the playlist. No fake menus. No copies of media. Something DVD-A sorely needs.
Looking forward to it in an update. [hint, hint]
