DVD-A really needs playlist support

I recently jumped ship from using Encore/Premiere Pro to DVD-A/Vegas for workflow and playback compatibility issues, and so far am very pleased with both tools. Except for one major complaint with DVD-A...the less-than-pretty solution for implementing "Play All" type functionality.

I'm working on several projects which are compilations of digital photos organized by year and event, and I want to be able to view not only the stillshow for a given event, but all the shows for a given year. It has become a pain to create and populate "fake" menus with copies of the stillshow videos just to pull this off. It's a lot of work that could be handled quite quickly and elegantly with some sort of playlist functionality. Let me define a list of media that will be played one after another, and and end action for the list, and then target my button at the playlist. No fake menus. No copies of media. Something DVD-A sorely needs.

Looking forward to it in an update. [hint, hint]

And while I'm at it [grin], it could also use folders in the Project Overview for organizational purposes. If you have many assets that are not actually in menu folders (which I do, mostly because of the lack of a playlist feature), then your project can get a bit disorganized.

Are these assets that you want on the final disc, or just ones you want available to you while you're working on the project in case you need them?

In either case, just add a menu, but don't have a link to that menu. Unless the viewer goes poking into the files on their computer, they're not going to know those "menus" are there. And if they do, hey, Easter Egg!

Add some submenus to that menu, and you have "sub-folders."
