Dvd acting strange in sony player

The dvd i burned plays like it should do in my pc, but when i feed it to my sony player,
all starts out good, but when i want to enter submenus, it jumps back to the front page and gives me highlights from my submenu.
I can select all that is on that submenu page, but i cannot see it.
Did i do something wrong in naming everything or is this something else ?
Thx,
Steve

I had something similar happen. Just out of curiosity, check the contents of the DVD. Does it contain an M2V file? That's what mine had when it gave me problems. Once the disk was burn without that file, everything worked fine.

Curious.

No, it does not contain that file, but i tested it in another dvd player at a friends place,
and it's perfect over there .
It must be my dvd player that's probably old or something.
Thx,
Steve

You probably know it but there are a lot of compatibility issues with DVDs and players both old and new. The site below has a great explaination of the reasons and links to other sites specifically listing players with issues.

For what it is worth I have burned dvds using dvd architect and have had inconsistent results with my Sony set top and with my Compaq Computer DVD-ROM drive. Same burn settings, same media, different results. I am still trying to establish a pattern.
