DVD Architect 6.0 Crashes after loading project.

JoeAustin wrote on 7/5/2017, 9:21 AM

Twice I've built this DVDA project from scratch. I can successfully save it, but on reloading, it crashed before the load is complete. I then moved the files over to my notebook, and it loads just fine. Tried many things, including updating drivers, latest windows 10 patches, removed and reinstalled DVDA, still no luck. I've done many other projects in the past with the same version, and no trouble. Any thoughts on what it might be would be appreciated.

Seems I spoke too soon. The same error occurred after trying to open the project again after booting up the next day. This is a stock Dell Latitude E7240 with Windows 10 pro. I would assume it's something to do with the project itself? Or maybe an issue with DVDA 6?

Do you have version 5 or the current version 7?

Version 6 was given as a free upgrade to version 5. It's only advantage was that it allowed for creating 3D BluRays. And it was buggy as all get-out.

If you bought version 5 and you took the free upgrade, go back to version 5. Even better if you've got version 7, which has none of version 6's problems.

I still have a copy of 5, and will definitely go back to that. Never had any trouble with it. No, I don't have 7. Not sure I would go for the update at this point.

Thanks for the info!

I have exactly the same problem as Joe. The error message is also the same. I start DVDA, load my project, and the programme crashes with the error window and message appearing. I have both DVDA 5 and also DVDA 7 installed. They both crash the same way. DVDA 5 used to work perfectly and I have not changed anything major although of course Windows Update float in regularly. I cannot burn a DVD or Blu-Ray disc (which works) since I cannot create my new project! Please help. Thanks!
