DVD Architect 6.0 won't play nice with Windows 10.

Forgive me if this problem has been reported, as I have not been to this forum in quite some time. I have tried uninstalling, and removing any reference to, my previous install of 6.0 with Win 7, but I just keep getting the message below. Architect 5.2 has no problems. I also removed any reference to 6.0 in the registry.

My computer is a AMD 6 core, with 16 gigs of RAM and 3 hard drive (capture and projject in addition to C drive, where Vegas and Architect are installed).

Any ideas? Thanks, Jim

Unless you're creating 3D BluRays, I'd recommend you stick with DVD Architect 5. It runs perfectly on Windows 10, in my experience.

Thanks, Steve. I actually upgraded to Win 10 on another computer yesterday, and that computer has no problem with DVD Architect 6.0. So it must be a localized problem. I'll continue to run 5.2 on that computer. I am not really sure what the differences there are between 5.2 and 6.0 anyway. You mentioned 3D BluRays - I won't be making any of them anytime soon!

The ability to create 3D BluRays is pretty much the only reason to use version 6.

The exact enhancement of Version 6 is being able to author Blu-ray 3D with 2D menu structures.

Prior to Version 6 you an still use the work combo of VegasPro with DVDAPro to create pure Blu-ray 3D.

Hello,
I have the same problem, DVD Architect will not start and displays almost the same error message:
Problem Description
Application Name: DVD Architect Pro
Application Version: Version 6.0 (Build 237)
Problem: Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)
Fault Module: C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\DVD Architect Pro
6.0\dvdarch60.exe
Fault Address: 0x5D59CCE9
Fault Offset: 0x5D59CCE9

The software worked fine on the same machine with Win 7. I tried reinstalling it which did not fix the problem. I also tried it with my anti virus software disabled. I don't have version 5 as a potential fall back.

- Sony Vegas Pro 13 installed on C Drive (250 GB SSD)
- Win 10 64 bit with all current updates
- Processor - Intel i5-2500K CPU @ 3.3 Ghz
- 8 GB RAM

What causes this problem and is there a solution allowing me to use version 6?
Thankyou

Never mind. I Googled the problem and found a solution - uninstall Quicktime. It worked. Since I am not a professional video editor I can just uninstall Quicktime when I'm working on video projects and re-install it later.

Same problem today.
I remember I did a quicktime update recently.
I uninstalled quicktime -> problem solved.
Thanks for the information.
