DVD Architect Crashing

I have made several DVDs with this software but now the software has decided to crash whenever I try to create a DVD or use the Optimise function. Also the Opening Video section of Properties will not hold an Opening Video - When I select a video, close properties and look back again it has disappeared. Suddenly this software has gone very buggy. Computer is working fine with other software VV4, Sound Forge and so on. Have removed an 1394 drive recently which I was previously using for projects. Is this a hangover from the missing drive and if so how do I correct it? Will try re-installing and updating from 1a to 1b in the hope that this will cure it. Any other ideas?? Thanks John I

OK so I tried re-installing and version 1.0b update - no luck! However I found that if I open a second instance of DVDA one with the problem design and one with a blank project and copy/paste from one to the other the problem goes away! Perhaps the SF crew can explain this. I assume a design step along the way created corrupted code which was crashing the first project and with cutting/pasting the problem code was not transferred. Either way not an elegant way to make DVDs but a work around until this software matures. Comments? John I

Sounds like your first project was saved with some bad info. Have you tried saving the new project where you have copy pasted and then reopening it?

OK I spoke too soon, good comment Wobblyboy when I saved the pasted project the same problem came back again. So I now have two corrupted files - what gives? - this is stupid. How do I troubleshoot this problem? I can't cut and paste and re-create the project everytime I want to modify or burn. All the symptoms in the first post have recurred. I don't want to start over I'd rather use software that is less hassle. How do I find the bad info causing this? John I

DVDA has just died! I can't even open a new project and assign a start-up video as a first step. When I assign it and look back again at the properties it's gone. Tried several clips - so it is not the video. Will try re-installing but this madness! John I

It did't seem to be a corrupt project file but something that had gone wrong with the program itself. After uninstalling and removing all traces of the program and then re-installing I'm up and running again. All the previous project files work fine. Hope this doesn't happen too often!! John I
