"DVD Architect has stopped working"

Windows 10, latest update. Vegas Pro 16. Latest version of DVD Architect.

I am running into this problem repeatedly, although unpredictably. Sometimes I can take my DVD projects all the way to completion, sometimes DVD-A crashes in the middle of a project: "DVD Architect has stopped working". Once that happens, if I try again to load and work with the saved DVD project, it crashes every time. I uninstalled DVD-A and installed it from the latest download from the Magix website, but that has not solved the crashing problem.

Right now, I'm having to re-start from scratch building a complex menu structure to re-create a DVD that I had been able to master and burn successfully earlier.

Very unhappy.

What are you using as source video for your DVD or BluRay projects? Is it video and audio exported from Vegas/Movie Studio in a disc-ready format?

Are you getting these crashes when you're trying to burn directly to disc? What happens if you select the option to create a Prepared File to your hard drive instead?

@ernie-tamminga, did you find a solution? Sounds similar to my issue.

@GeoffreyDean33 I'm not positive it's been solved definitively, but one thing I noticed was that when Vegas Pro16 exits, it often leaves behind a running background process. When that process keeps running after I exit Vegas Pro, it usually causes Adobe Photoshop and DVD Architect to crash. Now I make a habit of going into Task Manager every time I exit Vegas, and if there's still a Vegas process running, I kill it. Lately I've had far fewer crashes of Architect, so that may well have been the main culprit. (though I have still had just a few Architect crashes, so as I said, I'm not positive that the redundant Vegas process was the whole problem)
