I'm using the trial version of DVD Architect 7 and trying to burn a Blu-Ray. My media file is contained in .mp4, uses H264/AVC video codec and AAC audio codec. When I try to import to DVD Architect, I get a "selected file is not of the required type" error.
Any ideas?
Mp4 files are not part of the Blu-ray Specs so normally would be recompressed (re-rendered) by DVDA. Seems unusual to get the "not required type" message which presumably means DVDA isn't able to recompress your file?
What should I rerender the video as in VEGAS?
You should use one of the Bluray templates.

I would recommend watching them, and even if you are not using either Vegas Pro or Vegas Movie Studio, the file types would remain the same for "the Standard of Blu-ray". And if you do not like those videos, then in the "Tutorials Section" above, you can find some by Steve Grisetti.
