DVD Architect Pro 5.2 - Optimize Disc error

I'm trying to optimize a large Mpeg2 file so that it will fit on a 4.7GB DVD as a single movie.

When I use a menu option and loan the file into a menu the "Fit To Disk" option works fine. The fit to disk option will alter the Bitrate to fit to dvd disk size.

But when I start the project as a single movie (same file - no menu) and try to fit to disk the option will not work??? When I try to manually optimize the bitrate to shrink the file the size will not change - the program keeps telling me the file is too large?

Currently I have to burn the project to a hard drive and then use another program to "shrink" the image to a single DVD for buring.

Is there anyway to get Architect to resize a single movie option?

I'm currently using DVD Architect Pro 5.2 (build 124) under Windows 7 - 64x.

Works for me. You should see the default video bit rate change in the project properties. Recompress = Required.

When I try to compress a single Mpeg2 file using Optimize Disc --> Fit To Disc I get the error Media File is too Big......

The Mpeg file is 6.5GB and I'm trying to fit on a 4.7GB Disc. I can render the file to my hard drive and use Nero Recode or DVD Shrink to compress to fit a 4.7GB Disc with good results.

Is there a compression limitation for DVD Architect or should I be using another option/process with in DVD Architect to compress to 4.7GB?

Sorry for the same question but I don't have much experience with Architect.

Problem Solved - was trying to compress a file that was already in DVD format (Mpeg2). Had to change the Video 1 option for Recompress from NO to YES in the Optimize Disc window. Now the Fit to Disc option works great.

Had to dig into the older forum posts to find the answer.
