Sorry Worked last night very tired. Need sleep <g>
I mean for Vegas+DVD Architect

Correct, you need something like DVD Architect in order to burn a DVD.

DVD Architect supports the following drives (according to the web site):

HP 200i (+RW)
HP 200i - external (+RW)
Matsushita/Panasonic LF-311 (-R)
Matsushita/Panasonic LF-321 (-R)
Philips DVDRW228 (+RW)
Pioneer DVR-103 (-RW)
Pioneer DVR-104 (-RW)
Sony DRU-120 (+RW)
Sony DRU-500 (+RW/-RW)

Only suggestion I would make is to make sure your DVD burner's BIOS is the most current, and to update DVDA with the most current version on the website. That solved a burner issue for me, using the Sony DRU-500A.

Hi Sid -

Which BIOS update are you referring-to for the DRU-500A? I also have the 500A, and am considering it.

I use a new Pioneer DVR-A05 and it works perfectly with DVD-A vers 1.0a.

The interface shows that I have 1x or 2x option for DVD-RW and 1x, 2x, and 4x option for DVD-R just as it should be. Not only that, but it erases my DVD-RWs very fast (about 20-secs).

The current DVDit!PE (2.5.4) will only run my DVR-A05 at 1x speed and fumbles miserably. So, I'm really impressed at how DVD-A is handling my burner...

It's actually the DVD firmware; you can generally find copies of the most recent firmware for all drives at www.firmware-flash.com - or you can go to the manufacturer web site.

I have the Sony dru500 A and love it with the new firmware upgrade (free on Sony web site) You can burn at 4 X with the correct media.

hp dvd300i works also. Discs play quite well on my console, and even friends DVD players.

Bear -

Same question I posed a bit earlier. What firmware version are you referring-to? I also have the 500a, and it's never gotten past 1x. Hoping maybe the right update will help, but I'm a bit reluctant to simply start changing things and waiting for something to start working.

TIA,
Ronbo
