I have been burning dvd's on an indiDVD burner for months with no problems. Now all of a sudden they spit out after a few minutes with this error message:

'SFMMCX'-(17)
'atapi'-(1)
-'TDK DVDRW0404N 1.0C'-(0)
Module sfmmcx.cpp Line 1639
A medium error occurred.
A write error occurred. Make sure your media is approved for this drive.

I did the firmware flash upgrade on the TDK, and it burned 3 dvd's successfully, and then started doing the same thing again.

Just a thought---sounds like bad discs or the burner laser is out of wack.

That is almost the same error that I've suddenly started getting too on one of my burners, the Sony DRU 800, and only when burning using DVDA 3.0b. I never had the problem before and don't have it using other programs. I seriously suspect there's a problem with architect 3.0 and certain burners that wasn't there before.

I just hit this same problem this morning, but only with DVD-R discs. The DVD+R discs burn fine and this only occurs with DVD-A 3.0.

At least interesting to read that other software also comes up with that same error.
In this thread they are pointing at the media ....
