DVD Created with DVDA not working correctly

This may seem like a previously posted problem, but please read through...

I have created a DVD with two titles and a simple menu. This all plays fine on the PC & a portable DVD player I have, but doesn't play on my home DVD system (about 1 year old).

Ok, the DVD player I am having trouble with is the LG RH4820. I have a DVD with two titles, each title with a single chapter. When I select the first title to play, it plays, but hitting the menu button results in disc error. If I select the second title from the DVD menu, it results in disc error.

If I play the first title and click next chapter button on the DVD remote (whilst it's playing), it will play the second title. If I then hit the menu button (whilst playing the second title) the menu appears. I added a third title and this behaves the same way as the second title (i.e. it won't play from the menu, but when you use chapter select button when either the first or second title is playing, the menu button returns to the menu).

This is strange, and all I can think is that there must be a setting wrong in my DVDA setup that is confusing the hell out the LG player. The DVD works fine in a computer drive or a portable DVD player that I have.

Now here's the kick. I created the same DVD using Ulead MovieFactory disc creator, and it works exactly as expected in the LG player, which is why I don't think it's the DVD player or the media, and that there is something odd in DVDA or some setting/setup that I am getting wrong.

I have even burned to files and used nero, but get the same problem. As I said, if I create the same DVD with moviefactory it works absolutely correctly, but not with DVDA.

How about giving us a clue as to what version of DVDA you are using, and whether it's DVDA or DVDAS?

I'm using DVDA Ver3.0c, the latest.

I too have had similar problems, and also other strange unexpected behaviours that show up on my Panasonic desktop, but not on preview or in the computer drive. And yes, doing the exact same thing in the Ulead software produces the proper results, so you are not alone. I have a laundry list of strange behaviours that I haven't yet figured out a solution to.

Have you checked the "remote button" 'Menu' settings in DVDA?

I have had problems too, since I had been using DVD3. I think I am going to switch back to DVDA2.
