Just wondering if there are any tricks to making sure that video footage isn't burned partly on both layers?? I'm concerned with the chance of delay in the middle of a song as the burner switches layers that it is reading on the final product. Hopefully that made sense.
I don't actually have the latest version of DVDAS, but from what I hear, there is a way that you can specify exactly when the DVD is to switch to the 2nd layer - so you can purposely set the switch to happen between scenes etc.
Layer breaks can only occur at specific points (between titles or at chapter points. When there is more than one candidate DVDA3 gives you the option to choose which candidate to use. If DVDA3 can not find a candidate it will list the start time and end time and you have to insert a title or chapter point. DVDA3 makes it easy. Caveat: Do not fill the DL to capacity or you may not end up with any candidates and you will have to change the order on the disk. The more unused space you have on the disk the more DVDA3 can pad the image to position a chapter point or title change on the layer break. YOu wnat to keep all your navigation stuff on the first layer so you don't doa lot of layer changing. Try to keep the contigueous stuff on the second layer. Does all this make sense?
At this point I don't have the project ready, so I haven't had a chance to test it out. The manuals never go into enough detail to help lately. It sort of makes sense. I'm sure I will recognize the scenario once I do the burn. Thanks for the help.
