DVD estimation size

I usually use avi. files in my DVD's and just let DVDA2 compress...however...what i could normally fit with room to spare on a disk with DVDA1 ...goes way over the limit on DVDA2. Is this a problem with the estimation? I even renedered all videos as mpeg-2 and it was still too big.

The estimation when using MPEG2 files is really bad. I haven't used AVI files, but perhaps the estimation is bad for these as well. Try preparing the files to a folder and then look at the total size of the files. If you have Nero, you can put these files into a DVD Video compilation and Nero will tell you exactly whether they will fit or not.

Save your project, close it, and open it again. The estimate still won't be right, but it won't be as far off.
