DVD Importing - Sound Problem

hal9001 wrote on 12/2/2007, 3:23 PM
When I import a DVD into Vegas, it breaks the video up into manageable 5 minute cuts. My problem is that when I reassemble the video there is an audible 'drop-out' at the intersection of each cut.

Does anyone know why? Or perhaps someone can tell me how to stop Vegas breaking the video into 5 min cuts?

I am using Vegas Pro V8. by the way.

Thanks in advance.

I have had the same problem. I have not had the time to explore the issue. Maybe someone nice will tell us what is wrong. I purchased some DVD ripping software and import to vegas if I need to by ripping to an avi file with the other software. I get media on DVD that I have copyright permission and sometimes use it in shows. The import DVD in Vegas drops the audio in sections just enough to make it not work. Maybe its to keep us from selling edited versions of sony movies? Maybe its a bug? It would be nice to find out.

IS your capture hard drive formatted to NTFS? and not FAT 32

Have you ticked the box that says you have FAT32 and so the capture breaks the files up to roughly that size, or have you set the maximum capture to 5 minutes

I have had a few audioissues with import from DVD too. Maybe you need one of thoose utils to make an mpeg importable file out of it.

I've had way too many audio issues with the DVD import function. When i need DVD material now i play it through my A/V->DV converter and capture it firewire as it i was capturing from a DV camcorder.
