Ok, peeps, my computer has risen from the dead. I'm back in business yet hell hounds still haunt my trail. My internal DVD burner fried. So I am using a USB DVD burner which is supposed to also act as a CD burner/player but so far it does not recognize any CDs. Oh well, I'll fix that later, I'm just jazzed to be making DVDs again. So...back on topic...
I bought some Avery labels to make DVD inserts (Matte White Jewel Case Standard And Slimline Inserts 8693, color inkjet), you know for the jewel case. Well each page has two inserts to to speak, you fold it and it breaks apart, and one does not fully fit the jewel front so the presentation is slightly cheezy. Ever so slight.
The template 8965 is not even in the Avery database of software templates. Get this, the page also says to use template 8693 which fortunately does exist in the software. And by "templates" I mean for printing to the Avery paper, choosing which Avery label you are going to print to. Template is probably the wrong word to use.
The software that comes in the package is called DesignPro 5 Limited. It is simply awful. It constantly either goes to "program is not responding" or it uses 100% of the CPU (a P4 1.8Ghz). This is some very poorly written software. Nothing intuative at all.
What free software you guys use for printing to preformed DVD/CD jewel inserts? And what paper? "Prefolded" or whatever you call it where you bend the paper and it seperates.
ps. the label I am making is a simple jpg file with a dozen or so words of text. Very simple. Very difficult with this useless software.
