DVD Loosing Signal

Hi:

I'll say right off that I haven't tried trouble-shooting this problem yet, but am posting here in case someone else has had this problem or has an idea.

I've been working on my DVD for some months, adding clips as I get them done. Each time I add or change something I make a copy of the DVDA file and use that in case I need to go back to an earlier edit.

My problem: I am now getting occasional loss in DVD signal. THe picture fades and sometimes goes out altogether. In fact, one trail ends prematurely. I've checked the mpg2 files, and they are fine.

So two things that I'm going to begin looking into: 1) Does having multiple copies of the same project confuse DVDA (I currently have 7 copies)? I'm first going to try moving all but one.

2) I've been opening/closing and editing this project for months. Also deleting menu audio and replacing. Could all this activity have gotten it all scrambled? Would it be better for me to start from scratch once I have all the media ready?

I appreciate any thoughts.

Jon

There will be problems if you let DVDA prepare different versions of the same project to the same folder by overwriting. Confusion reigns in this case, so I simply write to a new folder with every incarnation of a project.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I removed all but the latest of the copies and that got rid of the problem. NIce to have a problem that is that easy to fix, for a change. :)
