DVD Quality

Half hour chapter-based DVD.
Using DVD Architect Widesreen video stream setting.
Two things are happening during the render,
1) Image is breaking up, cutting in an out of black near the end.
2) The image in DVDA preview is substandard, wattery looking, wavey is how I'd describe it.
Never had such a disappointing result.
Any thoughts.

Are you rendering your file in Vegas or DVDA?

What settings are you using? What is your original source material? Are you watching the DVD on a TV or computer screen?

Don't judge the quality of the final video by the DVDA preview. You need to use an external monitor to judge the quality.

Rendering in Vegas Pro 11, using DVD Architect Widesreen video stream.
MXF files, through Raylight Ultra.
Watching DVD on Asus Pro Art monitor.
I hook up my CRT TV and have a look there.
With this new monitor haven't been using the old Toshiba TV.
The end use will be DVD to LED projector or computer screen.

But the other issue is breaking up of the image near the end of the half hour project.
I'll maybe take up that one on the Vega Pro forum.

What bitrate are you using? If you go too high most players will have a difficult time streaming the video.

Have you tried burning in some other software? Ever since DVDA 5 or so, i haven't been able to successfully burn with it. The last few minutes skip and have blank spots. If i burn the exact same VIDEO_TS folder using Nero i get a disc that plays perfectly. Then again, i prefer burning in Nero anyway because it does a verification pass which DVDA doesn't do.

Thanks Kelly.
I'll fiddle while Nero burns.

What am I thinking of.
Of course, the issue is I can't render the file to MPEG, i get flickering from image to black.
