DVD-R & DVD-RW

I have an LG GSA4160B, which supports DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW, however from DVD Architect Studio, if I try to write to a DVD-RW disk it tells me it is not supported by this drive. If I try to write to a DVD-R disk, it writes, but the disk does not play. If I just create the folder then try using Nero 6 to write it, Nero says that the file re-alocation failed, if I ignore this it writes the disk, but it does not play. With other DVD authoring software, Nero works well with all 4 types of disk. All works as expected with + disks, but my families DVD players do not all support the + disks. Also, if I make a + disk, then use Nero to copy it to a - disk it works OK, but this is a slow and annoying solution. Anyone know a better solution?

Yep I was getting this error and if you type it in a general search for the Internet you will get loads of hits.
I don't get this in VMS but I did get it when writing my vid files in AVI using Cyberlink Power Director V4. As suggested on the web; I ignored the error and it wrote the DVD fine. The other stuff I read said that it only happened in Nero 6.5.1 (I think) and if you got the latest version it would not appear.
I am writing mpeg-2 PAL in VMS but DVDAS won't see my drive, so I use Nero and have had no problems.

hope this may help.

hope this may be of help to you
