DVD Recognition Problems

I have created a slide show using Movie Studio + DVD, and also created my menus using DVDA. I have tried burning my DVD twice using a Sony DVD+R Disk. Both burns were successful, and I can play my DVD back on my DVD Rom without a problem. I have tried two different DVD Players to play the DVD, however, and they do not recognize the disk. Any suggestions that could resolve this would be greatly appreciated. This is my first attempt at this, so I'm not even sure where to start.

DVD-R media generally has about 90% compatability with players. DVD+R is down around 80-85% if you don't change the booktype. If you do change the booktype of the +R media when burning to be DVD-ROM, then my experience has been 100% compatability with players.

Many DVD players look at the booktype on the DVD and if they don't recognize it, they won't play the DVD.

I'd start by trying to burn a -R; if you still have problems then things get a little harder - you'll need to find a burner that supports changing the booktype (www.cdrinfo.com is a good place for reviews and this is one of the things they always check), then you'll need some burning software that supports changing the booktype - Nero (for example).
