I don't know if anyone can tell me how this works but I thought I would ask anyway??

I know that when you buy a DVD with a movie on it it works like this.
The DVD is made up of 2. layers and the lazer reads the bottom of the DVD and at the same time a diferant wavelength passes through the Bottom and reads the layer right above it.

But when we make are own DVD we buy Blank DVD but do they have 2 layers as well?

And for q/a 2. what is the capacity for a DVD?
Thank you

You can buy double-layer blank discs if you want to, but you also have to have a double-layer burner. They're also a lot more expensive than single layer. Single layer discs hold about 4.3GB and double-layer discs hold about 8.3GB.
