DVD-RW?

I've burned a few discs with DVD-A with success. Today, I popped in a Pioneer DVD-RW to give it a shot.

It burned, but it won't play on my Sony set top player.

Is there something I need to do to DVD-RW disc before they can be burned using DVD-A?

Sounds more likely to be an issue with the Sony - are you sure it plays DVD R/Ws? You can check compatibility on www.dvdrhelp.com

Burned sevral DVD-rw on Pioneer A04, play fine on my two set top players.

I've got the AO3. DVD-R's play perfectly.

Do I have to do any formatting to the DVD-RW before I burn?

No. If the -RW is blank, DVDA will just burn it. If the -RW is not blank, DVDA will give you the option to erase it before burning.

-RW is less compatible with set top players than -R. Plays in some not in others.
