DVD-RW? jmpatrick wrote on 2/13/2003, 6:47 PM I've burned a few discs with DVD-A with success. Today, I popped in a Pioneer DVD-RW to give it a shot. It burned, but it won't play on my Sony set top player. Is there something I need to do to DVD-RW disc before they can be burned using DVD-A? Thanks! jp Back to post
Comments Baylo wrote on 2/13/2003, 7:29 PM Sounds more likely to be an issue with the Sony - are you sure it plays DVD R/Ws? You can check compatibility on www.dvdrhelp.com Mark MDVid wrote on 2/13/2003, 8:02 PM Burned sevral DVD-rw on Pioneer A04, play fine on my two set top players. Do I have to do any formatting to the DVD-RW before I burn? jp bcbarnes wrote on 2/14/2003, 8:14 AM No. If the -RW is blank, DVDA will just burn it. If the -RW is not blank, DVDA will give you the option to erase it before burning. vonhosen wrote on 2/14/2003, 9:44 AM -RW is less compatible with set top players than -R. Plays in some not in others. 1
