I've had a very similar problem. My solution was to let DVDA burn the image to my harddrive and use another piece of software to actually burn the disc (DVD Shrink or Nero)

I think it will be easier to help you if you provide more info:

1. What version of DVDA, and are you using the latest update of that version? (Latest update of 1.0 is 1.0d. Latest update of 2.0 is 2.0a.)

2. What brand of media? Is "The Best DVD" a brand name or just your opinion? ;-)

3. What brand and model DVD burner, and how is it connected -- internal, external, firewire?

The long and short of it is, DVDA is a bit picky about what burner it will successfully burn, not to mention what media. No, there's no "specific" burner made for DVDA, some just seem to go with it better than others. I have a Memorex burner, and use TDK media, and I seem to do pretty okay (if I use DVD-R). Experience may vary.

I'll tell you, though, quite a few people have gotten into the habit of simply preparing their projects with DVDA and burning them to DVD with something else. It's just become standard operating procedure for most. I like DVDA for it's DVD authoring features, so I don't mind the burning issues all that much.

At any rate, getting the most current version of your burner's firmware (from the manufacturer's website) and having the most updated release of your version of DVDA would be the first steps.
