DVD Writers

Hi all,

I should be grateful if you could participate in a survey of what you consider is to be the best DVD Writer? together with the best media?

I have a NEC ND-3500A writer, but I have had little success in finding a media that works consistently on stand alone DVD players. (I have two DVD players a LG and Panasonic).

If I use Verbatim –R x 8 (burnt at x2) works on LG not on Panasonic, and the same goes if I use Ritek G04’s.

PS: I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 4.0 software, and apologise that I have posted this thread on the DVD Architect Software forum, but felt it was more related to a DVDA subject than SVMS. Thanks

Have you checked for a firmware update to your NEC DVD burner?

Personally, I use a Pioneer A08 burner and I've never had a problem with Verbatim 8x -R media. I have also had very good luck with Ritek G04 media, however, I have had issues with Ritek G05 (I heard they changed their dye formula) and will probably stick with the Verbatim media for now.
