DVDA 3c not recognizing DVD burner

I had my computer crap out on me and had to get a new motherboard and processor and reinstall everything. I just reinstalled DVDA 3c yesterday, however when I try to burn a project the only option it gives me is ISO Image Writer. My NEC ND-2510A DVD burner doesn't show up on the list. I tried uninstalling my DVD burner and when I restarted the computer it was detected and installed again, yet DVDA still doesn't give it as an option. I have been using this drive with DVDA for the past two years, so I definitely know it's compatible. Any thoughts on what else I can try to fix this problem?

EDIT: I should also mention that I have the latest firmware, and I went into Sony Vegas and tried to burn an audio CD and it detected my DVD burner, so why it can detect it in Vegas but not DVDA I'm not sure.

Well finally! I too am having this issue and have spent hours on the phone with support to see why my DVD drive isn't available as an option. I recently got a new computer as well, and with the old one had no issues. I've gotton the latest firmware, uninstalled/re-installed, and I even had Dell replace the DVD drive - all to no avail. I am only able to burn an ISO image, and it's maddening! I still have no fix from Sony, so ANYONE who has had this issue and fixed it, please let us know!

In case it matters, my dual layer capable DVD drive is:

HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GWA4164B, made by LG/Hitachi

If you do a search and limit it to DVDA forum you will find this topic is covered almost monthly. Some DVD burners are not recognized by DVDA. A work around is to use Nero or something comparable to burn your VIDEO_TS Folder, which you can create in DVDA by using Prepare.

A fix for this issue is to send in a report to Sony using the Support button above on the gray bar to select Technical Support. Include in your submission the DVD burner you have as well as the firmware you are using and explain that it is not recognized by DVDA. Support has been good about sending replacement .dll files to get your drive to work. They did this for me, but I never burn from DVDA- I prepare and let Nero burn my project.

Again, the search feature in these forums is the key to a plethora of information... utilize it. I hope this helps you both.

I have an LG DL burner and am having no problems burning with DVDA - however, it is interfaced to the computer via USB. What interface are you using? If not USB, you could try something like:

and then plug it into a USB connector on your motherboard.
